Since 1998, World’s Best Bars has been an rich, digital resource to find unique bars across the world. However, this wealth of information was lost in poor execution and outdated design patterns.
It was important to revitalize and enhance World’s Best Bars without straying from it’s core mission: “to locate and review the planet’s finest bars.”
At the core of the new version of World’s Best Bars was an advanced bar recommendation engine. This allowed users to select multiple preferences and a fixed location to find bars that matched their tastes.
We added a social layer from Instagram and Foursquare which brought personality and validation to the once strictly editorial-driven site.
The updated version of World’s Best Bars launched in January 2015. Their Facebook page currently has has over 72 thousand likes.
